Um amigo enviou-me excertos de um artigo do London Review of Books que aconselho a ler por completo porque tem muita coisa interessante e esclarecedora. De todo o texto vou salientar uma parte que reconheço ser apenas um fait diver e que será certamente dos trechos menos importantes que compõem o texto, mas que a meu ver trás uma perspectiva nova e refrescante acerca da Guerra no Iraque. "I heard that members of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas were demonstrating at the funerals of soldiers who had died in Iraq, claiming that the war was divine retribution for American immorality. I heard that they held signs depicting "homosexual acts", with the words "God Hates Fags"; "God Hates America"; "Thank God for IEDs [roadside bombs]"; "Fag Soldiers in Hell"; "God Blew Up the Troops"; and "Fags Doom Nations.""
